Common symptoms might include: headaches/migraine, dizziness, poor balance & coordination, reduced exercise tolerance, neck pain & dysfunction, fogginess and more. Assessment and treatment may involve all or just some of these components:
Education: learn about the process, what’s best to do, things to avoid, how to manage energy levels, and more.
Neck mobility, strength, and proprioception (i.e., joint awareness)
Vestibular (i.e., inner ear) and oculomotor (i.e., eye movements) functions- help to reduce headaches, eye discomfort, vision function, and balance.
Balance and coordination training
Exercise tolerance: Find out the right level of exercise to promote faster recovery
Sensorimotor integration (e.g., more complex, integrated tasks)
Cognitive-perceptual functioning (e.g., visual attention, focus, concentration)- Help to overcome difficulties with memory, multi-tasking, and more.
Performance on specific activities for sport, work, and life: To help prepare you for returning to these activities safely and comfortably.

Utilizing other inter-disciplinary healthcare practitioners where indicated. When required, referring to optometrists, neuro-optometrists, sport medicine physicians, naturopathic doctors, chiropractors, occupational therapists, clinical neuro-psychologists.
Initial Concussion Assessment
75-minute long initial assessment which includes both assessment and treatment using evidence-based concussion care. Assess your symptoms and work with you to design an active program to gradually improve your tolerance levels and help you safely return to learn, work and play. Working together to learn strategies to help maximize your recovery.
Helping you understand YOUR Concussion and the rehab process
Providing you with guidance to begin managing and improving your symptoms and tolerance on Day 1.
Working as a team and in close communication with each other in and outside of the clinic to help track your progress more accurately.
Part of the system may include referring you to another practitioner for help with nutrition, sleep, vision, cognitive function, and more.
Follow-Up Treatments: 30 minutes
Recovery progress isn't linear. There are always peaks and valleys, and you can expect that you might experience some of these along the journey to recovery.
Performing any necessary therapy as outlined in our plan of action, along with progressing or modifying any rehab exercises you might have based on your progress.
Virtual Follow-ups or Assessments
Regardless of where you are or when your concussion happens, we can arrange to be there virtually, to help you manage your symptoms and continue your progress to recovery.
The FITLIGHT® is a speed and cognitive training system that’s designed to completely transform the way we exercise, train, and measure performance. It helps us to strengthen the bond between our mind and body, enhance our reaction and response times, and so much more. We utilize FitLight to train your visuomotor processing, response time, decision-making, balance, & movement coordination simultaneously in order to help meet the demands of your sport and activity.
Neurotracker is a patented system that uses 3D multiple object tracking to improve the efficiency of your brain. NeuroTrackerX enhances your situational awareness, attention, executive function, working memory, visual information processing and cognitive stamina, in individuals of all ages and levels. It is also used in conjunction with balance training to enhance the demands on the brains information processing systems to further elevate one’s training and recovery. Training sessions are remote and take as little as 6 minutes per day.
VoxNeuro Cognitive Health Assessments show healthcare professionals how the brain is performing in core cognitive functions: attention, concentration, information processing and memory. This information provides healthcare clinicians with this precise data, which can rapidly identify issues with cognitive function, remove the need for expensive and time-consuming trial-and-error approaches to cognitive rehabilitation, and track patient progress. VoxNeuro assessments are performed at select locations across Toronto and costs are subject to individual insurance benefit plans.

CANCELLATION POLICY: 24-hours notice is required to either change or cancel your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours or miss their appointment will be charged at the full rate of their appointment. Please arrive a few minutes before the start time of your appointment time, and notify us if you will be late. Unfortunately, as we have appointments scheduled after yours, we will only be able to provide the remainder of your appointment time so as to not impact the next patients appointment time.
